BADSHAHBOOK: On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the one-year player contracts for Team India (senior players) for the upcoming 2022-23 season. BCCI has given advance to 26 cricketers.

In the pay scale, under-fire KL Rahul has been demoted to B grade, while more all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been promoted to A+ category.

According to a BCCI statement, the one-year contract dates from October 2022 to September 2023.

Top-order batsman KL Rahul has been demoted to B grade after a string of poor performances.

Group B had six cricketers - KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar yadav, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Lucknow SuperGiants coach Jonty Rhodes seemed to be in the favor of KL Rahul.

Rhodes defended KL Rahul who was struggling due to a dip in form. “He is indeed a great batsman as well as a great captain who loves leading from the front. We have no doubts about his ability as he had a fantastic season last year. One day cricket is something else and Rahul has become the captain. His composure on the ground is great, he is very important in T20 cricket.”
