BADSHAHBOOK: After a thrilling opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season where hosts and defending champions Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings, former Pakistan cricketer Imran Khan's statement has gone viral.
As everyone knows, Pakistani players are not allowed to participate in the IPL. Despite playing the inaugural season in 2008, but due to the terrorist attack of the same year, the BCCI decided to ban Pakistani players from playing in the IPL.
Amid the issues between the PCB and BCCI over the same, the former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, who also had served as the country's prime minister from the year 2018 to 2022 hit out at the Indian cricket board, saying it was "arrogant" and behaving like a 'superpower'.
Khan spoke about the issue of Pakistani players not playing in the world's richest cricket league, the Indian Premier League (IPL). Khan criticized the BCCI for not allowing Pakistani players to play in the IPL. He accused the board of "arrogance". However, he said Pakistan should not really worry about it.

"BCCI decides who they want to play with because India makes a lot of money in world cricket, and that makes them behave arrogantly like a superpower," he said.
The 70-year-old termed it an act of arrogance that the BCCI had targeted Pakistani cricketers. He further added that Pakistan praises its T20 premier league and the Pakistan Super League (PSL), to attract foreign cricketers.
“The BCCI is targeting Pakistani cricketers to create a show of arrogance. However, Pakistan cricket now has its own quality T20 league [PSL] where foreign cricketers play,” he said.
The former captain reaffirmed his faith in Pakistan's young cricketers and urged fans not to worry about their exclusion from the IPL.
The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League kicked off on Friday with a match between defending champions Gujarat Titans and four-time champions Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
