BADSHAHBOOK: IPL 2023 Start Date and Time: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is just a few hours away and fans can't wait to see their favourite players do battle on the cricket field. But before that, they will witness something spectacular: the opening ceremony of IPL 2023. The opening ceremony will be held at 6:00pm IST, just before the first match of IPL 2023 between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.
The opening ceremony of IPL 2023 is going to be held on Friday, March 31st. The event will be held just before the CSK vs GT match which is scheduled to start at 19:30 IST. Venue of the event will be Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Live streaming of the event will be available on the Jio Cinema OTT app for free.
The 16th season of the Indian Premier League now returns to its pre-Covid glory with 72 matches across 12 venues scheduled over the period of eight weeks. In the opener at the world's largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, defending champions Gujarat Titans will take on Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings. But before the cricket action, Rashmika Mandanna, Tamanna Bhatia and Arijit Singh are set to dazzle the opening ceremony to entertain the crowd.

Superstar singer Arijit Singh will perform at the event and hopes to serenade the crowd at the world's biggest cricket stadium. Tamanna Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna will also perform at the ceremony. The spectacular event will be followed by the season opener between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the same venue.
Today's opening ceremony is also the first to be held in the IPL since 2018. In 2019, it was cancelled by the BCCI as a tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack. Meanwhile, Covid-19 restrictions have prevented this from happening in 2020-2022. This year, even the inaugural season of the WPL saw a grand opening ceremony where AP Dhillon, Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon performed. So the BCCI has already set the standard this year and they are expected to live up to it.
