BADSHAHBOOK: Harmanpreet Kaur's Mumbai Indians clashed against Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals in the 18th match of the Women's Premier League 2023. Two-top ranked teams gave it their all at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai as the chase for the no. 1 spot in the standings is heating up.

At the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Monday, Delhi Capitals thrashed Mumbai Indians by nine wickets in Match 18 of WPL 2023.

As Delhi chased 110 runs, Alice Capsey hit 38 runs off 17 balls during an unbeaten knock of 38 runs.

Meanwhile, Mumbai's Hayley Matthews took a wicket. For MI, Pooja Vastrakar top-scored with 26 runs off 19 balls, including three fours and a six, against a target of 110 runs. The other three wickets were taken by Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey, and Jess Jonassen.

With 10 points and 8 points, respectively, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are currently leading the points table of the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023. Despite their shock losses last weekend, MI-W and DC-W will hope to head into the playoffs with a win under their belts.

Harmanpreet Kaur's MI lost to UP Warriorz this weekend, while DC lost to Gujarat Giants in their last match. Last time the two sides met, MI thrashed DC by eight wickets with spinners Issy Wong, Saika Ishaque, and Hayley Matthews each taking three wickets. It was quite interesting to witness how Harmanpreet’s side competed on Monday (March 20) night.
