BADSHAHBOOK: MS Dhoni is one of the most popular cricketers in the world and star singer Arijit Singh is also a fan of the veteran batsman. The duo shared a heartwarming moment in the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on this Friday. It was a real heartwarming moment for all the cricket fans who witnessed it LIVE in the stadium and on TV when the singing sensation Arijit Singh met with Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni at the opening ceremony of IPL 2023.

 

After the performances of all the three artistes - Arijit, Rashmika Mandanna , Tamannaah Bhatia - finished at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday night, the team captains at the event were invited on stage later that night to pose with BCCI dignitaries as well as a performer. 

Dhoni, being the captain outside, arrived first and shook hands with everyone present on the dais. When he headed to meet Arijit, he was very pleasantly surprised by the singer's gentle gesture towards him, as the singing superstar touched Dhoni's feet to pay him respect. This beautiful moment between the two has already gone viral on the internet.

IPL 2023 began on Friday with a huge-octane match in-between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hardik Pandya's squad started their campaign by defeating CSK by a margin of five wickets to get to a winning start.

A grand opening ceremony was held just before the match where stars like Arijit Singh, Tamanna Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna graced the stage with their magical performances. Mandira Bedi, who hosted the function, invited Arijit to perform first. 

He performed for around 25 minutes, singing all his favorite numbers and latest tracks, from 'Jhoomey Jo Pathaan' to 'Kabira' to 'Kesariya' and ended his brilliant act with 'Jeetega Jeetega India Jeetega' as the fans thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Tamannaah belted out 'Oo Antavaa' among other songs to enthrall the fans while Rashmika performed on RRR's Oscar winning song 'Naatu Naatu'. Not to forget, she surprised everyone with an appearance in 'Srivalli' from her own film 'Pushpa: The Rise'.

And towards the end of the opening ceremony, two captains - CSK's Dhoni and GT's Hardik - also joined the stage to take photos with the performers and BCCI officials along with the winner's trophy, only during this time.
