BADSHAHBOOK: Bollywood’s Badshah and Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR’s) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan appeared at the renowned and iconic stadium Eden Gardens on Thursday evening. He arrived at the stadium to cheer on his team in Match No. 2023 of the Indian Premier League (IPL). 9 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). And in return, his team welcomed him with an 81-run victory, which was also his first win of the season.

 

The game seemed to be in RCB's control as they reduced KKR to 89/5 after opting to bowl first. However, a 103-run partnership between Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur shifted the momentum in favor of the Knight Riders as well as gave Royal Challengers a massive target of 205 runs.

In response to KKR, Faf du Plessis & others got bundled out for a paltry of 123 runs in 17.4 overs after the faltering middle order.

Since the debut at their home ground in 2019, KKR has dominated RCB in both the batting and bowling departments. After getting to bat first, they managed a mammoth total of 204/7 on a slow track, thanks to Shardul Thakur's blitzkrieg (68 off 29 balls).

The second half was dominated by KKR skippers Varun Chakaravarthy (4/15), Sunil Narine (2/16) and Suyash Sharma (3/30) as they spun the net around the RCB batsmen and triggered a massive collapse. The trio combined to bowl out the Bangalore side for 123 in 17.4 overs as KKR recorded a clinical 81-run triumph.

After the amazing triumph, Shah Rukh Khan joined the celebration with Nitish Rana and his fellow teammates in the dressing room.

Everyone gathered and sang the team anthem. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh tried to pull Rinka's leg by declaring, "We will all follow Rinka." However, the KKR batsman was apprehensive and said, "It's too much English."

After winning the hearts of millions worldwide with his comeback film Pathaan, the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been undoubtedly busy preparing for his upcoming films.

However, yesterday he just decided to have a break from his busy work schedule as well as went to Kolkata for his own team Kolkata Knight Riders match with the competing Royal Challengers Bangalore.

He was even accompanied by his daughter Suhana Khan and her bestest friend Shanaya Kapoor. The soon-to-be actresses were also busy preparing for their big Bollywood debuts, so it was a welcome respite for them.
