IPL 2023: Three Players from Delhi Capitals (DC) Who Can Win The Orange Cap In The Tournament

BADSHAHBOOK: IPL 2023: Three Delhi Capitals (DC) players who can win the orange cap in the tournament. Delhi Capitals is yet another team that has failed to win the IPL title so far despite having big names in the past like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, AB De Villiers, Daniel Vettori etc. The current Delhi Capitals (DC) outfit this time will aspire to win the IPL 2023 title.

Delhi Capitals (DC)-led David Warner has suffered a major blow after Rishabh Pant's car accident as the keeper-batsman will be unavailable due to serious injuries. After a forgettable season last year, the team and management will be hoping for a better performance in IPL 2023. Delhi Capitals will start their IPL 2023 campaign in front of Lucknow Super Giants on April 1 in Lucknow.

In this article, we will discuss three players who can win the Orange Cap in IPL 2023. The listed players have shown their destructive batting skills in the past in the shorter format including the IPL.

#1 Prithvi Shaw

In Rishabh Pant's absence, Prithvi Shaw's form will be key to holding the top order together. The right-hander scored a brilliant 379 against Assam during the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season, amassing 595 runs in 6 matches combined at an average of 59.50 and a strike rate of 92.39 for the entire season.

The right-hander is good at pacing an innings and adjusting his technique depending on the conditions, which is his greatest strength. The opener can play some fine front and back foot strokes as well as square cuts. Shaw has the ability to use the pace of the bowlers to drive the ball in the gaps, which he does effortlessly. Shaw's footwork allows him to judge length well on both fast and slow wickets.

Although the youngster needs to get more experience, he highlighted a classic stroke play in the previous IPL season and is therefore one of the favorite choices to be able to win the Orange Cap in IPL 2023. He scored 283 runs in 10 IPL matches last season. strike rate 152.97.

#2 Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh is another destructive player who can overwhelm opponents with his counter-attacking style of play and unorthodox stroke play. A power forward can dominate when he goes. The stout all-rounder can be a shaky start when it comes to facing spinners, but against pace, Marsh can be a big accelerator when ready. The right-hander can set up in any batting position, making him a dangerous finisher.

He has no fear of hitting seamers down the ground with the new ball, just like the old ball. His strong bottom arm helps him generate enough power to hit the ball high even on a good length delivery. Marsh looked in great form in the ODI series against India.

The 31-year-old can pull the ball down with tremendous power, even if the bounce is uneven or low. Last IPL season, he scored 251 in 8 matches at an average of 32.37 and a strike rate of 132.80, making him one of the favorites for the Orange Cap this season.

#3 David Warner

The Australian opener did not look out of form in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, but the left-hander is capable of making a gutsy comeback as we have witnessed in the past. The 35-year-old's destructive batting skills can destroy any bowling attack when he gets going, as witnessed earlier. Newly appointed DC captain David Warner can overwhelm the opposition bowling with his powerful chops and pulls.

The left-hander achieved a score of 432 runs overall in 12 IPL games in the previous IPL season with an average of 48 and a strike rate of 150.52. Warner's adaptability even when turning wickets makes him a big threat. Warner is a big match player as he can single-handedly go through any attack with his aggressive batting style.

Many would not consider him a favorite for the Orange Cap due to his poor form, but Warner is a fighter when it comes to comebacks so he cannot be taken lightly.
